Our program is a carbon copy of that of the French National Education Department

Study of the French language:

  • Grammar

  • Conjugation

  • Spelling

  • Vocabulary

Reading:

  • Discovery and Study of literary texts (complete or extracts of French classics) in order to develop a taste for reading in French.

Writing and Oral:

  • Writing : Summary or reformulation of texts read in class as well as the creation of introductions or conclusions along with the teaching of compositions of French essays in “French style”.

  • Oral exchanges, debates and personal reasoning..

After much discussion with parents and our own conclusions, we no longer strictly follow the official CNED program as this has been found to be too constraining. This has enabled us to offer a more interesting schooling as well as a wider and more liberal or judicious selection of literary works.

On top of this program, for those students in year 10 looking to prepare their French GCSE, we offer several exercises to train for their exam all throughout the year.
